About Us

The Association of Bong Miners (ABM) is a nonprofit organization committed to fostering unity, social progress, and economic development within Liberian communities—both in the United States and in Liberia.
Founded by a group of passionate individuals connected by their roots in Bong Mines, Liberia, ABM serves as a bridge between the diaspora and home, working to preserve our shared heritage while driving sustainable change.

Through community-driven programs, charitable initiatives, and partnerships, we aim to improve access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. ABM believes that collective effort and shared responsibility are key to transforming lives and strengthening our communities.

We are more than an association—we are a family bound by purpose, culture, and the desire to make a lasting difference. The Association of Bong Miners came into existence in 1996 during the Liberian Civil War. The community of Bong Mines was horribly affected by the war. Hospitals, schools, homes, and historic landmarks were either severely damaged or destroyed. As a result, Bong Miners displaced in the diaspora decided to come together and form a group to unite and reach out to help the Bong Mines community in Bong County, Liberia.

Join us as we continue to build hope, empower individuals, and inspire the next generation of leaders.
Together, we rise. Together, we build.
